I am currently living in New York City and have just finished a fashion internship with Marie Claire. I graduated from Florida State University on April 30, 2010 with a degree in Apparel Design and Technology. I am very passionate about everything fashion! I am a very energetic and fun person to be around which I feel makes it easy for me to work well with all types of people in any situation. I am organized and hard working and feel that my positive and artistic personality would lend well to your team. I am a very smart person and what I do not already know, I can learn quickly! I am confident, fearless and creative and would be an excellent choice for the job.
As an Apparel Design and technology major at Florida State University, I have spent my college career learning and practicing the techniques needed to be successful in any aspect of the fashion industry. I feel that many of the skills I have learned; flat pattern, draping, merchandising, textiles, CAD and illustration, will help me immensely as a part of your company. My internship at Marie Claire magazine has taught me how to work with people in many different positions giving me tasks at the same time. It has also bettered my multitasking skills and taught me how to prioritize quickly and efficiently. I have also worked as a hostess and a server which both taught me responsibility, the ability to work well with other people, and how to get the job done when faced with constant distractions. In college I held the position of Head of Background in my sorority which entails deciding what will be worn and preparing the outfits as a whole for the week of recruitment which helped refine my ability to work with a team of people while still getting my ideas across.
I am good with deadlines and know from experience that I can work well in a fast paced environment. I am looking to start a job as soon as possible and would be willing to give as much time as I can to the position!
