While I understand hiring is a process and in today’s market it is a dog eat dog world, I am asking for the opportunity to be more than just another electronic name in your stack of applications. I want to be a person in front of you with the ability to explain with a voice why I would be a capable individual, fit for this profession.

In the age of the Internet, human interaction has become more and more obsolete. We trust our lives, our most personal experiences, our education, and our privacy to the digital coding of the World Wide Web. Facebook and Twitter draw out an obsessive nature from us, one that urges us to constantly be connected to friends, acquaintances, and coworkers.

In the interest of change, we have lost the most simplest of pleasures. Randomly bumping into an old friend or colleague, or reconnecting with an old flame. Even the so called job market has evolved into a more efficient but less personal experience. Interviews are harder and harder to get, because computers searching for keywords decide on the best fit, not taking into account life experiences.

I know I do not jump off the pages of my résumé. But what I do know is that I have never confronted a task I did not accomplish. I take every position, assignment, project, and complete it beyond my capabilities. If I am asked to do something that I have not done before, I go out of my way to learn how.

I am asking for a chance to move past a computer program and be judged on not only my abilities but on the person that I am. I want to prove to you that a good fit is not just someone that looks good on paper, but someone that in person can articulate in a mature, educated, self aware manner, why it is I am applying for this particular position.

It is a challenging position of responsibility where my experience and abilities can be efficiently utilized, and I can successfully lay a foundation towards the career I am passionate about. This position will bolster my work experience as well as contribute to the development of the organization.

I will be able to enhance my experience and knowledge of the inner functioning of the workplace, while developing and maintaining professional relationships and networks that may prove priceless in the future.
